Nguyên tắc chung khi thành lập câu hỏi đuôi (Question Tag)
- Nếu câu nói trước là câu khẳng định, câu hỏi đuôi phải ở thể phủ định.
- Nếu câu nói trước là câu phủ định, câu hỏi đuôi phải ở thể khẳng định.
Công thức của câu hỏi đuôi

Ex: You are not going to the school, are you?
→ Bạn sẽ không đến trường phải không?
Liam has worked for this company for 5 years, hasn’t he?
→ Liam đã làm việc cho công ty ấy 5 năm rồi, đúng chứ?
Evelyn lives in New York, hasn’t she?
→ Evelyn sống tại New York phải không?
Một số trường hợp đặc biệt của câu hỏi đuôi
- Câu hỏi đuôi của I am là aren’t I
Ex: I’m not the leader of this team, am I?
- Câu hỏi đuôi với Let’s
Ex: Let’s use the smartphone, shall you?
- Khi chủ ngữ là Everyone, someone, no one, anyone, anybody, nobody,… câu hỏi đuôi là “they”
Ex: No one in this call is taller than Ryan, are they?
- Khi chủ ngữ là nothing, anything, something, everything, that, this” thì câu hỏi đuôi dùng “it”
Ex: Nothing in the room was stolen, wasn’t it?
- Khi trong câu chứa các trạng từ phủ định như Never, Seldom, Hardly, Little, Few,…thì phần câu hỏi đuôi vẫn sẽ ở dạng khẳng định.
Ex: Ivan usually go to the cinema with his friends every Sunday, does he?
- Câu hỏi với used to ta sẽ dùng didn’t cho câu hỏi đuôi
Ex: Julia used to take her children to the water park once a week, didn’t she?
